Dr. Seitz, a board-certified anesthesiologist, has been in private practice in Manhattan since 2007. His medical academic journey commenced at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he pursued chemical engineering and minored in psychology as a pre-med student. He furthered his studies at Tulane University School of Medicine, earning his MD and completing rotations at the renowned Charity Hospital before its closure following Hurricane Katrina. Subsequently, Dr. Seitz returned to the Northeast for his anesthesiology residency at Columbia Presbyterian. As an attending anesthesiologist, Dr Seitz specialized in obstetric anesthesia as well as inpatient and outpatient anesthesia for most surgeries. His pivotal experience with ketamine occurred in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he provided relief anesthesia during the earthquake using peripheral nerve blocks and ketamine. He was introduced to the potential of intravenous ketamine therapy by his former Columbia colleague, Dr. Sara Herman, in Menlo Park, CA. He then pursued additional training in ketamine assisted psychotherapy from Dr. Phil Wolfson and is currently enrolled at The California Institute of Integral Studies. Dr. Seitz is affiliated with the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, The American Society of Ketamine Physicians, and The American Psychedelic Practitioners Association.
