Sharlene's academic achievements are many. With 30 years of medical practice and having extensive experience in hospital and clinical settings with a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Brigham Young University, Sharlene continued her education and went on to earn a Master of Science Degree (MSN) and the advanced status as a Women’s Health Care Nursing Practitioner (WHCNP) from Frontier Nursing University. Sharlene is also a trained expert in the area of Lyme disease and associated chronic disease and a member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS). When not passionately serving her community, Sharlene enjoys spending time with her seven children and thirteen grandchildren.
Anne Bowden has a background in physical medicine, alternative pain management, bio-identical hormone therapy, and chronic conditions including Lyme disease. Anne earned her Master of Science in nursing with a family nurse practitioner specialty from Frontier Nursing University. She loves any opportunity to further her education and continue learning - she even spent a week in Alaska to be trained by Ty Vincent for low dose immunotherapy. She previously served on two committees for the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. She's a certified practitioner through the RGCC, and working on her certification in Autism and PANDAS/PANS through MedMAPS.
Dr. Girish Kalva is a board certified physician and has an interest in prevention, nutrition education, diabetes, obesity, hypertension and offers a holistic approach to medicine. He received his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, graduating with honors in 1996. With over 25 years of experience practicing medicine, Dr. Kalva brings a wealth of experience to our Rising Health team. He believes that lifestyle changes are a crucial part of patient care. "I want everyone to move in the right direction by not just reading and listening but by implementing changes in their lives to see the difference it makes by doing so," he explains. Dr. Shawn Postma is a naturopathic physician who specializes in treating various complex chronic illnesses, such as digestive issues, toxic mold, histamine intolerance/MCAS, Lyme disease, heavy metal toxicity, and breast implant illness (BII). He utilizes a multi-disciplinary and holistic approach to help his patients, including diet & lifestyle, detoxification, IV therapy (including ozone therapy), bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), and stress reduction techniques. Dr. Postma holds a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Puget Sound. Carrie received her Board Certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Westminster College in Utah. Carrie has been practicing medicine for over 20 years. She believes that true health comes from finding the root causes of illness and partnering with patients to develop individual treatment plans. Her approach is to connect, listen deeply and meet each patient where they are at with compassion and kindness. Carrie is a lifelong learner and is constantly expanding her education and expertise. Her background is in Pediatric Critical Care and Cardiovascular medicine, Emergency medicine, Pilates rehabilitation and applying Functional Medicine in clinical practice. She is currently pursuing a certification in Functional Medicine from the Institute for Functional Medicine. Her expertise and special interests include Clinical Nutrition, Cardiometabolic disorders, Stress Resiliency, Hormone Therapies, Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, Sexual Health, Alternative Pain Management, Gut Health, Detoxification, Autoimmune disorders and many more.
