MD

Dr. Tammy Saah, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and specializes in Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD), Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), and ketamine infusion therapies. A Bay Area native, Dr. Saah earned her B.A. in Psychobiology from University of California, Santa Cruz and a M.A. in Neurophysiology from San Jose State University. She went on to earn her M.D. from the American University of Beirut and later completed her psychiatric internship and residency at Emory University in Georgia, where she also served as Chief Resident from 2013-2014. As a resident in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University, Dr. Saah was intrigued by the many misconceptions surrounding complex depression treatment, prompting her to become the department’s first ever TRD Fellow. Dr. Saah was centrally involved in the development of Emory Healthcare’s TRD Clinic during her fellowship, an innovative research program for psychiatric patients with mood disorders that have not responded to medication. Dr. Saah’s clinical interests are focused in TRD and CPTSD, with an emphasis on advanced psychopharmacology and alternative or novel therapeutics in the management of this population. Throughout her training and practice, Dr. Saah has been involved in researching the benefits of ketamine therapy in patients with chronic and persisting mental illness. Dr. Saah is a member of the American Society of Ketamine Physicians (ASKP3), and a leading ketamine provider with extensive experience. She also is involved with a close network of clinicians specialized in CPTSD, and works closely with other California-based psychiatrists and psychotherapists to provide integrated treatment to patients within the state. They all work together to provide traditional and alternative treatments to the CPTSD population, with the end-goal of relief from the chaos of trauma.
