Dr. Christopher Fischer is a triple board-certified Child, Adult, and Forensic Psychiatrist. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor (VCF) in the UC Davis Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Fischer has over 10 years of experience in treating treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder as well as many other mental health conditions. Dr. Fischer first became interested in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy when he realized the limitations that traditional oral anti-depressant medications can have in terms of effectiveness and side effects for some patients. After reviewing the evidenced-based research, it became clear to him that ketamine assisted-psychotherapy represented the most significant breakthrough in multiple decades for treatment-resistant mental health conditions. Dr. Fischer understands that ketamine therapy is a powerful treatment that must only be recommended after carefully evaluating an individual’s mental health history, indications, and potential for treatment responses. Prior to any treatment, Dr. Fischer conducts a comprehensive psychiatric consultation to understand a patient’s current symptoms, goals of treatment, and diagnoses as he strongly believes that successful treatment outcomes start with an accurate diagnosis and a collaborative treatment plan. Dr. Fischer looks forward to meeting you in our Sacramento ketamine clinic and helping you recover from depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain.

My mission is to help clients not just survive but thrive, and in doing so, contribute to a world where mental health is prioritized and stigma is deconstructed. My journey in mental health began in 2012, following a significant change in my life trajectory. Prior to that, I had spent over 20 years working as a commercial photographer. However, in 2010, I experienced a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that sidelined me for two years. During this period of recovery, I grappled with an episode of depression and anxiety, gaining firsthand insight into their debilitating effects and the importance of having a strong support system to navigate through challenges. As I progressed in my healing journey, I developed a keen interest in understanding the complexities of the human brain and its functioning, particularly in relation to mental health. This newfound fascination prompted me to shift my professional focus towards the field of mental health. Over the past 12 years, I have had the privilege of working with clients, providing them with the support and guidance they need to overcome their own personal obstacles. It has been a rewarding experience to witness individuals reclaim their well-being and resilience in the face of adversity.
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Somatic Therapy Trauma informed Therapies PTSD, Anxiety, Depression Hello, my name is Andreina Cheema, and I am a holistic psychotherapist. I am passionate about supporting individuals in finding meaning of their ketamine experience and developing awareness and insight gained during their infusion to promote their capacity for healing, growth, and creating positive lasting change in their lives through ketamine integration psychotherapy. I have 11 years of experience working with individuals who have struggled with life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-harm, low self-esteem/self-worth, and who solely want to improve their well-being. I take a holistic approach to psychotherapy, honoring the mind, body, and soul. I am trauma-informed and use a culturally sensitive lens. I practice through various modalities and work with individuals to find the approach that fits them best based on their individual needs. I became interested in ketamine therapy when research showed significant positive outcomes when used to treat treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain. My interest turned into excitement when I learned how ketamine supports the process of neuroplasticity in the brain, which increases our ability to change beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors. I realized that ketamine can be a catalyst for change and that with guidance, support, and action, individuals can learn how to propel that change forward to support their healing, growth, and progress during and after their ketamine treatment. As your integration psychotherapist therapist, my intention will always be to hold a safe, compassionate, non-judgemental space, meet you where you are, and walk alongside you. I currently have the privilege of leading a ketamine integration group and am providing individual integration sessions.
