Dr. Price Neff is a native Tennessean who grew up in Memphis. As a kid, in addition to an obsession with horses, Amy loved cycling, running and medicine. She was very fortunate to have a biologist for a father, who worked in medical research and facilitated her early interests in immunology and cell biology. After attending UT Knoxville, where she did her undergraduate work in Neuroanatomy, she went to medical school at UT Memphis. Amy did her residency in Charlottesville, Virginia at the University of Virginia in the Department of Family Medicine where she also did a Fellowship in Faculty Development and focused on community mental health. At the time, the most interesting questions in healthcare for Amy were the lack of access to care for the uninsured and underinsured. During their time in Norfolk, Amy and Eric opened a butcher shop called Pendulum Fine Meats with their neighbors, Dylan and Dana Wakefield. Amy taught cooking classes to medical students and hosted community events to discuss meat, diets and health, animal welfare, and food systems. Interested in farming, food systems, and the intersection of regenerative agriculture and eaters, the Neffs began a journey in farming that continues in Nashville.
