Dr. John Schneider, MA, has a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Nebraska. He earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and went on to specialize in Neurology at the Department of Neurology, University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Schneider was mentored by world renowned neurologist and pain medicine specialist Dr. Miroslav “Misha” Backonja. Drs. Schneider and Backonja collaborated on pain research projects focusing on determining the cause of pain. Dr. Schneider finished his sub-specialty fellowship training in Pain Medicine at the Department of Anesthesia and Peri-operative Medicine, Georgia Health Sciences University. While there he worked closely with Anesthesiologists/Pain Medicine specialists Dr. William Hammonds and Dr. Dan Martin. Dr. Hammonds is one of the pioneers in the area of pain medicine education, having mentored hundreds of physicians over the years and Dr. Martin has made major contributions to the field of radiofrequency ablation techniques (a form of long lasting pain treatment). While completing his fellowship training, Dr. Schneider gained knowledge on pain medication management and interventional techniques in both the acute and chronic pain settings. Dr. Schneider’s unique training background provides him with the ability to integrate the best approaches of each sub-specialty in order to ascertain which approach is most appropriate for each individual patient. Dr. Schneider is the founding director of the Tennessee Pain Society and the Vice President of the Tennessee Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is active in healthcare politics and serves as a legal consultant in the fields of Neurology and Pain Medicine. In his spare time Dr. Schneider enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons. He enjoys zymurgy, boating, archery, camping and golfing. Dr. Sandra Golamco is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and in Pain Medicine by the American Board of Pain Medicine. She has also received fellowship training in interventional pain procedures. A native of the Philippines, Dr. Golamco attended college and earned her medical degree there. She completed her medical internship at New York City’s St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and served as chief resident in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, also in New York. In her more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Golamco has worked with patients recovering from a variety of conditions, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, neurologic and orthopedic conditions as well as acute and chronic pain. Dr. Golamco has worked at a number of pain management clinics across Tennessee and brings a wealth of hands-on experience in a variety of interventional spine and joint procedures. Most recently, she leveraged her experience to provide physiatry consultation services for patients. A well-respected physician, Dr. Golamco loves her role as a physiatrist and pain physician and a enjoys helping patients achieve the best recovery that they can with the injuries they’ve sustained. Whether by procedures, therapy, medications, or simply by counseling, she finds gratification in helping make a difference in people’s lives. In her spare time, Dr. Golamco enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, music, eating and cooking good food.
Dr. Mistie Germek is a licensed clinical psychologist with health service provider designation. She completed her Ph.D. from the University of Denver and her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California-Davis. Dr. Germek’s overall focus is on helping people cope with the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that accompany chronic pain. Her goal is to help people improve the quality of their lives through cognitive behavioral approaches that are collaborative, flexible, direct and person-centered. Through structured sessions, individuals will complete a pain management skills training program with the purpose of developing strategies to contend with stress, tension and other emotional situations that may exacerbate pain symptoms. Outside of work, Dr. Germek enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She also enjoys Barre workouts, traveling and watching SEC football.
Linda Bonifield is a board certified nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Linda graduated cum laude from Aquinas College earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing before attending Vanderbilt University to complete her Masters of Science in Nursing. At Vanderbilt, she served as a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is a member in several professional organizations, including ASRA, TNA, AANP, MTAPN, GAPNA, and TPS. Linda has an extensive background in the practice of interventional pain and is focused on providing quality care with a multidisciplinary approach for our patients. Outside of work, Linda enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading, travel and UT football. Go Vols!
Kelly Jackson is an advanced practice nurse at Comprehensive Pain & Neurology Center. As a headache specialist, Kelly works closely with clinic founder Dr. John Schneider to provide expert care for patients experiencing migraines and headaches. As a migraine patient herself, she understands the impact that they can have on work, family, and social life. She enjoys being able to relate and offer relief to her patients and improve their quality of life. She is focused on providing clinical decision-making balanced with compassionate patient care to her valued patients. She does this by staying updated on the latest and most up-to-date medications and interventions available. Kelly received her nursing degree from Middle Tennessee State University and her Master’s of Science in Nursing as well as her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Her professional experience includes four years as an ICU nurse at St. Thomas and eight years as an aero-medical evacuation medical technician in the Tennessee Air National Guard. She has been a nurse practitioner for five years, including four years with Comprehensive Pain & Neurology Center. She completed her Certification of Added Qualification in Headache Medicine through the National Headache Foundation. In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling.
Rebekah Pierce is a board-certified nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Rebekah completed all her training at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky, including a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, her Master of Science in Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner program, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice. Rebekah has extensive knowledge and experience in pain management, having worked for interventional pain clinics for more than seven years. She brings experience with in-office interventions for chronic pain, including Botox injections for chronic migraines and ultrasound-guided joint procedures. With a record of compassionate and patient-oriented care, Rebekah is dedicated to achieving exceptional patient treatment outcomes. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her family.
Jennabeth Fitch is a board-certified nurse practitioner with over 13 years of clinical experience. Jennabeth received her bachelor of science degree in microbiology from Louisiana State University. In 2000, she earned her professional degree as a nurse practitioner from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Previously, she has nursing experience in women’s health, clinical research, and interventional pain management. Jennabeth believes is a multidisciplinary approach to chronic and acute pain including physical therapy, medication, interventional injections, nutrition and counseling. Her goal is to deliver comprehensive care for patients suffering from painful conditions to improve their quality of life and increase physical function. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her three boys and husband. Some of her hobbies include crafting, shopping, college football, and painting furniture.
Mandi Beuerlein is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Austin Peay State University, and her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from Middle Tennessee State University. Mandi has 15 years of experience as a nurse, including 10 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has well-rounded experience providing acute care and chronic disease management for diverse and challenging populations. In addition, works to promote wellness with her patients through both self-care and prevention of illness through education, counseling, and close follow-up. In working with patients, her goal is to provide compassionate care balanced with personalized clinical decision-making to improve and provide the utmost care to each and every patient. Outside of work, Mandi enjoys spending time with friends and family and watching her two children compete at rodeos in bull riding and barrel racing.
Kelsey Shasteen is an Advanced Practice Nurse at Comprehensive Pain & Neurology Center. Kelsey received a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Florida-Gainsville and her master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She specializes in adult-gerontology primary care. Kelsey’s professional experience includes working as an acute care nurse, providing quality care to older adults experiencing a range of health conditions, and as a charge nurse in an orthopedic/spine care setting, collaborating with other health care professionals to educate patients on their prognosis and post-operative treatment. In working with patients, Kelsey seeks to deliver compassionate care with respect to individual patient needs. I am passionate about delivering compassionate patient care with respect to individual patient needs. “I achieve to listen to my patients and their individual complaints so we can tailor a treatment plan specific to them. Chronic pain can be very challenging in many aspects physically and emotionally, so I strive to get my patients back to doing the things they love,” says Kelsey. “I like to do this with a multidisciplinary approach utilizing physical therapy and interventional procedures, along with medication.” In her free time, Kelsey enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to comedy shows, and participating in all the different events Nashville has to offer.
Lauren Billington is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with experience in pain management at Comprehensive Pain & Neurology Center. Lauren received a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Tennessee and a Master’s degree in Nursing from Vanderbilt University, with a specialty focus on adult-gerontology primary care. Lauren’s professional experience includes working as a nurse practitioner in pain management and in public health as a COVID-19 contact tracer. In caring for patients, Lauren’s goal is to provide patient-centered care that focuses on a multidisciplinary approach and evidence-based practice to improve their quality of life and treatment outcomes. In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family and friends, painting, listening to 70s music, and playing with her dog, Nova.
Courtney Hollis is an Advanced Practice Nurse at Comprehensive Pain & Neurology Center. Courtney received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Southern and her master’s degree in Nursing, with a specialty focus on adult care nurse practitioner, from the University of Alabama at Huntsville. She is board-certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Courtney’s professional experience includes nearly four years of practicing inpatient infectious disease medicine and working in a level two trauma emergency department. Through her experience, she is well-versed in delivering care to a wide span of patients. In caring for patients, Courtney is empathetic and understanding. Her foundation in health care started when she was a nurse’s aide at 16 years old, which has allowed her to appreciate all aspects of patients’ needs. In addition, she takes a comprehensive approach to each individual’s health. She understands that pain is unique from one person to another and works with each patient to accomplish a common goal. In her free time, Courtney enjoys spending time at home with her spouse and children as well as their boxers, chickens, ducks, and turkeys.
Ashley Prichard is a certified Physician Assistant at Comprehensive Pain & Neurology Center. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University and a Master’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of South Alabama where she completed her Physician Assistant studies. Ashley has nine years of surgical and orthopedic experience practicing in her home state of Alabama. She also has two years of experience in pain management, with expertise in Spinal Cord Stimulation. Ashley also spent two months working in New York City in the emergency room along with COVID-19 disaster relief. She is excited to bring her surgical skills and clinical knowledge to Comprehensive Pain & Neurology Center. In her free time, she enjoys Auburn football, live music and cooking gluten free food. Ashley works at our Murfressboro clinic.
Angela Owens is a nationally certified Physician Assistant at Comprehensive Pain & Neurology Center. Angela received her bachelor’s degree in human biology from the University of Michigan-Flint and a master of science in medicine degree from Nashville’s Trevecca Nazarene University. Angela has been a licensed Physician Assistant since 2008. She started her Physician Assistant career in orthopedic surgery. There, she became compassionate about helping patients suffering from chronic pain. She has been specializing in Interventional pain management for nearly 15 years at a variety of pain and spinal clinics throughout the greater Nashville area. In caring for patients, Angela feels she has found her purpose to help others and feels fortunate enough to be able to provide care that can change lives and provide each patient with a better quality of life. Although chronic pain is a condition patients continue to live with, Angela hopes to provide a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach that will make a difference in each patient. Her own personal experiences have made her passionate about pain management. In her free time, Angela enjoys hanging out with family and friends, watching her daughter cheer and her son play all types of sports. She also enjoys traveling, golfing, boating, camping, watching sports (Go Blue! Go Lions!), playing board/card games, and playing sports with her family and friends.
